What are the Common Databases

Jose Simpton

The development technology of database is mature. Most database management systems are dominated by relational databases.

What are the used databases at home and abroad? We can learn about it.

The database management systems include Oracle, Sybase, INFORMIX and INGRES. The above-mentioned products can support multiple platforms. And IBM's DB2 is a mature relational database. Unlike others, DB2 is embedded in IBM's AS/400 series computers. It supports OS/400 operating system.

I. MySQL

MySQL is the most popular open-source SQL database management system. It is a registered trademark of MySQL AB. It was developed, published, and supported by MySQL AB. This is a commercial company based on MySQL developers. The company has used its successful business model. It has combined open-source values and methodology. And it has become the second generation of open-source companies.

MySQL is a fast and robust SQL database server. Its servers can support the use of mission-critical. They can support heavy-load production systems. You can embed it into a mass-deployed software.

2. SQL Server

SQL Server is a database management system developed by Microsoft. It is the most popular database on the Web for storing data. This database has been used in banking, insurance, electricity, e-commerce.

The latest version is SQL Server 2005. The system stability of the operating system is important. This database can run on Windows at present.

SQL Server provides users with many e-commerce functions. It can support rich standards for XML and the Internet. It can access data through the Web. It is powerful and flexible. And it can realize secure application management based on Web. Many users love this database.

3. Oracle

Oracle is the first company to think of. The company was founded in 1977. Oracle has been a leader in the database field.

Oracle transferred relational databases to desktop computers. Oracle5 took the lead in introducing new concepts. The latest Oracle 8 adds object technology. It has become a relational-object database system. Oracle products cover dozens of models. It has become one of the most used relational data systems.

4. Sybase

In 1984, Mark B. Hiffman and Robert Epstern founded Sybase. They launched the Sybase database product in 1987. There are three main versions of Sybase. One is the version running under UNIX operating system. The second is the version running in Novell Netware environment. The third is the version running under Windows NT environment.

I wonder if you know anything about these databases.
